ABOUT ME
I am a fully-qualified, experienced and professional psychodynamic therapist (BACP Accredited and Registered).
I trained to work with individual adults, young adults and couples in open-ended psychodynamic therapy.
Over the years I have gained experience working with people who have a wide range of issues including;
relationship problems,
anxiety and panic attacks,
suicidal thoughts and self-harm,
depression,
mental, physical and sexual abuse in childhood,
eating disorders,
as well as bereavement, loss and trauma.
This experience and knowledge enables me to work with a greater understanding, courage and honesty that helps my clients to talk about, work through and understand these issues in a safe and calm environment.
I have worked with people who have a diagnosed mental illnesses such as generalised anxiety disorder and bipolar disorder. I also have experience of providing time-limited counselling.
In addition to private practice I work with Frontline 19 offering short term trauma and crisis management sessions to frontline healthcare workers.
Qualifications
BACP/BPC -Accredited Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling
BACP - Accredited WPF Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling Theory and Skills
Certificate of Couples Counselling
Certificate of Psychopathology: Theory and Practice
I undertake regular and appropriate CPD.
Professional membership
I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Membership no.194201
Ethics
I am bound by the code of ethics of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and am subject to their complaints procedure. A copy of the ethical framework can be found on the BACP website.
